B E R L I N
I could definitely spend more time with you, and by more time I mean I could possibly live in this amazing city. Aside from Berlins' obvious beauty - the incredible history, architecture, food, booze - the streets ooze a sense of style - a vibe that could make even an ordinary, kiwi gal wandering the streets feel 'cool'.

Berlin takes everything a laid back community has and throws it in a city with 3.5m people who all seem to embrace this nothing-too-serious way of life (reason 1 to live here). The people just make this city - chefs that come out of the kitchen and join you for a mulled wine, and share their secret food spots, cafe owners who drive you across the other side of the city just so you can visit local Sunday markets, and strangers who are just happy and grateful to meet new faces and share local knowledge.

I had 3 days to tick off this city, and not wanting to leave an inch unturned!

Day 1 - Lunch was well deserved after hours finding our feet in the city - we found an amazing spot in Mitte (forgot to jot down the name of the restaurant), but behind heavily drapped velvet curtains we devoured a burger and a few glasses of rose before we set back out for the arvo! The evening we headed out to Tausend (also located in Mitte), but blink and you'll miss this place as it's hidden behind a plain steel door with no signage whatsoever - while the food was good (as you would expect), I would more so recommend the cocktails for this stop!

Day 2 - COFFEE 'Funk You' located inside Bikini Berlin shopping centre. Raw foods, wholefoods, organic coffee, superfood smoothies - alllllll the goodness! East Side Gallery (pic above), amazing history as we walked the last standing piece of the Berlin Wall. Obviously crowed with tourists (me included) but a hands-down must see while in Berlin. We then skipped across to Checkpoint Charlie and by 3pm were ready/dying for refreshments... Mulled wine. The evening was a highlight for me - we dined at Japanese restaurant Cocolo Ramen which came highly recommended by one of the chefs at a cafe we dined at earlier. The queue to dine was lined up down the street so we knew we had found a hot spot - and that it was - DELICIOUS! Soon after devouring the entire menu, we found ourselves at Roses Bar - another must-see (even just for the selfie by the wall of roses), where we sampled the range of cocktails and cut shapes all night!

FINISH DAY 2

DAY 3 - for the final day we headed back to our favourite coffee shop (above), and the lovely owner offered to take us to some well known Sunday street markets - Boxagener Platz Market. These markets run Saturday and Sunday all year round, and we were told the Saturday market is centered around food, with goods like traditional German pastries (which would've been a godsend for our hangovers), organic produce, fresh fish etc. It was Sunday when we visited and the markets were well and truly alive - flea market style - with furniture, clothing, jewellery, paintings and trinkets of Berlin to take home.

I left the city feeling like there was so much more to see, and do. Which can only mean that I must return...

What a weekend, thanks Berlin x
